The Downtown Sailing Center partners with You Make A Difference STEMMA Inc.
Summer Sailing in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Women of Color Magazine (Fall, 2014) – The Downtown Sailing Center, led by Executive Director Lynn Handy partnered with You Make A Difference STEMMA, Inc to give 22 diverse children the opportunity of a lifetime. Through the partnership, leaders from You Make A Difference STEMMA Inc, attended the US Sailing STEM Educator Course with the DSC’s Programs and Education Manager, Stuart Proctor. Following the course this powerful team worked to engage 22 youth through a one week sailing program infused with the Reach modules. Read More

At the forefront of innovation is a program inspired by legendary ocean racer Jim Kilroy. Thanks to funding and foresight of the Jim and Nelly Kilroy Foundation, US Sailing has created the Reach program, to challenge today’s youth to reach higher academically, further intellectually, and develop a daily practice of discovery. On July 24th, 2014 US Sailing honored Jim and Nelly Kilroy with a small token of our appreciation for their continued support and guidance of the Reach program.
